| This is the outer fort, showing the narrow strip of land on which the British assaulted the fort. On the right is the 'tank' (a reservoir), while the land to the left of the road drops off to a virtual precipice. To the left is the Delhi gate, but in the centre of the picture is the only Napoleonic era breach still in existence. It's overgrown now, but it gives a good idea of how steep such breaches were. And note the inner wall which made that breach such hell. | ||
