'Dominion' is an alternate history with the premise that Lord Halifax became Prime Minister instead of Winston Churchill following the resignation of Neville Chamberlain. Samson then leads us down a very dark and terrifying path. After the military disasters at Norway and Dunkirk, further involvement in the war becomes too much for the appeasers and they agree to Hitler's terms for peace. Although not occupied, Great Britain is gradually taken over by an authoritarian government led by Beaverbrook. Oswald Mosely and his Blackshirts have free rein, while a brutal auxiliary police force strikes fear into those who dare to protest or resist. After being forced from politics and into hiding, Winston Churchill heads a resistance movement, manipulating the tyrannical system, exploiting any weakness, hoping to free the country from fascism. The crown nation continues to restore order in an increasingly rebellious Empire. Meanwhile, war rages on the Eastern Front between Greater Germany and the Soviet Union. David Fitzgerald has his own reasons for joining the resistance - yet it's a dangerous game to play. And the stakes are very high. During the infamous London Smog of 1952, he and his compatriots must endeavour to save one afflicted man burdened by a terrible knowledge.
