I enjoy Bernard Cornwell’s books but found this new writer story gripping from start to finish. It’s a breath of fresh air and different to the usual Roman and Greek categories out there.
Good historical research about a period I am not familiar with. Caros the lead character is an inspiring hero. The battle scenes are well thought out, and very descriptive, I can actually picture myself on the field .One really grows along with the character in this story. An excellent read for this winter setting.
