Bernard, I just finished Sharpe’s Rifles and, having devoured many of the series, found it to be just outstanding among a wonderful set of stories. I stumbled onto Sharpe as part of extensive research that I did for a historical fiction adventure screenplay about a treasure heist set in the 1850s and ’60s. I was delighted, and read as many as I could find on audio books as I always listen when I drive. Now that I got an iBooks reader on my iPhone, I’ve been binging on a steady diet of Sharpe, as I can never get enough. He’s an old friend now, and it’s really fun to fill in my gaps in the series, such as his first meeting with Harper. Sharpe’s Rifles had a special magic for me and I felt compelled to reach out and say that you really hit that one out of the park. I’m assuming you’ve read it, but if you haven’t, check out Breakheart Pass by Alistair Maclean. It’s one of my all-time favorite action thriller novels and you’d get quite a kick out of it. I look forward to reading everything you’ve written, and I congratulate you an many jobs well done. Thank you and all the best, Jeff
