Dear Mr. Cornwell, I just wanted to send you this short message to say what an incredible inspiration you have become for me. It was a great pleasure to meet you, albeit briefly, at a recent book signing in London. I have always been interested in history and often scribbled down short stories for my own amusement. Since having discovered your books and enjoyed so much your persuasive and gripping style of writing, I am now starting the process of trying to write my first historical fiction novel. I must thank you for the significant effect your writing has given to me. Harwich, a name I think you will be familiar with, is the small harbour town on the East coast of England where I live. It is my intention to one-day settle in North America with my Canadian wife. Born and raised in Essex, a fondness for good cigars and whiskey, it is my hope that these small similarities do not stop there, and that one day I might inspire another person to write in the same way that you have done for me. You are a wonderful storyteller and I look forward to enjoying your work for many years to come. Yours sincerely, Darren Hanton
