Dear Mr Cornwell I am a great fan and really enjoy learning my history from your works of fiction. My favourites are the Grail Quest and the Saxon series. The latter I can particularly identify with having spent a good deal of time in my student days stuck in the mud on falling tides in various East Anglian river estuaries, then later, living in an old farmhouse on the high tops near Alston in Cumbria. As for Azincourt, it was on our way home after a visit to the UK this autumn, so I pressed my husband to visit the site after reading the book. The visitor centre was fascinating and the actual field of battle seemed to me to be extraordinarily small! I look forward with anticipation to the next part(s) of the Saxon series and hope it reaches a conclusion before we all crumble, as we are much of an age! M. T. E. Paula Allsopp
