Just finished The Fort – Bravo, dear sir! As a life-long denizen of New England and a Rhode Island resident, its nice to have your talent turned towards the local angle of that little dust-up we call the Revolution. You certainly knocked off some of the luster surrounding our uber-Patriot Paul Revere! (And your note at the end regarding the connection between Revere/General Wadsworth/Poet Wadsworth was fascinating..) One of my favorite parts of the book was the little chapter concerning the discussion between Samuel Adams and General Gates: Ale, Samuel Adams said firmly. Ale, sir? Ale, Samuel Adams said even more firmly. (The Brewing Company by that same name should give you a life-long pass to any of their products!) It was also good to see the beginnings of many things we see later on in your Sharpe series, such as the realization that green was a good color for the Light Company, and the blooming talent of Sir John Moore. Please keep up the good work, and I look forward to whatever comes from you next Uhtred, Sharpe, Starbuck, Hook its all good!
