Hi Bernard, I live in Victoria, Australia and by chance I found a copy of ‘Sharpe’s Fortress’ in a local bookshop when the Gawilghur siege words caught my eye. We have been researching my Kenny ancestors -I am ggg-granddaughter of Colonel William Kenny. I note in your book that you have William being killed at the siege but our research has shown that he died slowly during the following months from his wounds on 30 April 1804 at Ellichpur. We are writing the Kenny history and wondered is you are interested in reading the chapter on William. We have a miniature painting believed to be a young William. His descendants in Australia have his sword, red sash and the platinum ring given to him by the Nawab of Hyderabad. Thank you for an entertaining historical novel. Rosslyn Thom.
