Thank you again and again for all your books – they give me so much pleasure. I have got a bit of a soft spot for the Arthur trilogy but my favourite is always which ever one I am re – re- re -reading. I really enjoy your historical notes at the end of some of your books. Thanks to you (with a little credit to Georgette Heyer’s ‘The Spanish Bride’ and ‘An Infamous Army’ read +++++ years ago when a teenager). I now have a wonderful hobby to pursue in my retirement – learning as much as I can about the Peninsular War and Waterloo and visiting as many of the battle fields as I can. I have just started with a two day trip to Waterloo – it was wonderful but have you seen the state of Hougemont – TRAGIC!!! I have signed up to a restoration charity project so I hope it will be saved. Mr Cornwell you have made such a contribution to my life and I am really pleased to have this opportunity to tell you so. I think it must take great courage to write novels. With very best wishes and repeated thanks Caroline Cooper
