Hello Mr Cornwell, I just thought I would send you a quick email to let you know my appreciation for your Arthur series. I came across your site by accident and I read the frequently asked questions pages and was surprised to find that there was very little about the Arthur trilogy on there, quite a few mention Derfel but there werent many questions about them. They are my favourites, the scope and magnitude of the tragedy was when I first read it shocking, I actually got a lump in my throat as I was reading the scene between Derfel and Aella ….and I was mystified (still am) over your deliberate and delicious ambiguity over the aborted summoning of the gods and the eventual fate of Arthur and Culwhuch reminds me of a rough arsed uncle I once had – simply stunning stuff. My father first introduced me the Sharpe when I was 14 (in 1984) – Sharpes Rifles and I have enjoyed his adventures ever since. If you ever get any spare time to read another of my favourites are the original Conan stories by Robert E Howard – again great stuff. Did you ever get to read Gates of Fire by Steven Pressfield? curious if you liked it or not. Anyway enough from me and thanks for your continued efforts – cheers Justin Dixon
