The Saxon Stories started a borderline obsession with Vikings for me. My wife’s side of the family is originally from Norway, and with the Viking fever in full swing I dragged her and the in-laws across the ocean to visit. We got to tour the Viking Ship Museum but most importantly we tracked down and stayed with lots of relatives whom we had never met! Without Uhtred and his love of the Danes, we might never had experienced the trip of a lifetime and connected with her Viking Family, who are planning to raid our hometown next year!
