Dear Bernard, In one of your recent comments, you said “I’m in enough trouble with my readers already because I sometimes make a Christian pick his nose, and God knows what they’d make of any puritans I wrote.” As a Christian could I respectfully point out one flaw in your depiction of priests – you need to make them more selfish, sadistic and power hungry to get them accurate. Salvador Montseny of Sharpe’s Fury was getting there, need more evil! Also, can I please go on your “please name a character after me” list? except I have the boring old name of Matthew. Also regarding my earlier time travel question – Waterloo, good choice!
