Dear Mr. Cornwell, Just a note of thanks for many hours of totally enjoyable reading. I have read just about everything you have written (Saxon Chronicles last on the list) and you have managed to take me back to the pleasure of reading I enjoyed as a youngster… that kind of wild abandon that only total immersion in a book can bring. I am especially attracted to the character of Richard Sharp who is as complex a character as I’ve ever encountered in literature. As a former historian who abandoned the academic life in order to feed a family, I am in absolute awe of your ability to manage a series in different historical settings and your handling of the role of religion in it’s various incarnations is simply masterful. So from a 66 year old, please accept my most sincere thanks for providing me with vehicles through which I am able to recapture some of the joy of reading I experienced as a youngster.
