With regard to the question posed by ‘Elizabeth’ (posting 71 dated 15 Mar 2010 in FAQs), thanks to the fact that I have a copy of each and every one of your published novels I can confirm that this was actually in ‘Sharpe’s Siege’, when the naval captain (and later proven a coward) Horace Bampfylde ordered Major Sharpe and Captain Frederickson to patrol nearby roads. They laid an ambush on a supply train and found tinned chicken as part of the loot. Sharpe pronounced it “Bloody delicious”. I look forward to the release later this year of ‘Captivate, Kill or Destroy’ – another to keep my collection complete. David Coote
