Mr. Cornwell, I have been reading your Saxon series for some years now and am absolutely in love! I grew up reading Tolkien, then graduated to Wilbur Smith, another fantastic author, but a different type of historical fiction. Luckily for me however, my best friend introduced me to your Archer series, and from there I began reading the Saxon series. I must say, this is my favourite book series I have ever read! I have been a Catholic all of my life, and before I read your books I never once questioned my faith. However, since I began reading your works I have questioned the Catholic/Christian faith considerably and come to the conclusion (I’m not sure if this is your own conclusion or just Uhtred’s) that why should people feel as though they are inherently bad? Born with the original sin and therefore corrupt? Now, I’ll take Thor any day! Anyway, I apologize for my epistle of an email, but thank you very much for such a wonderful series and opening my eyes to religion! Mike Thomas
