Hello Mr Cornwell, This is not a question, it is a thank you. I have always enjoyed history, but had lost some of the passion. I was also very limited in the periods of history I would read about. However, you changed all that. One day I was at the library looking for something different to read and I picked up Sharpe’s Triumph. It sounded quite good and I decided to take it (after all there was nothing else interesting). I started reading it as soon as I got home and couldn’t put it down. I have since read all the Sharpe books – I actually own all 21 – and just about all your other historical novels. I have also bought many other books on each of the periods featured in these stories, especially the Peninsular War and the main people involved in it. This is where the thank you comes in. You have reignited my love of history and given me back the passion I once had. This has led to my children becoming interested and they have many historical books themselves. You have also opened my eyes to a wider range of times in history that were also exciting and I am thoroughly enjoying discovering all about them. THANK YOU from me, my husband (he enjoyed reading the Sharpe books too)and my children.
