Hi Bernard, I have never written to an author before and I find it strange doing it but I felt I had to after finishing 3 of your books in 5 days and have just purchased 4 more. I saw the book Azincourt in a store a few days ago and being a lover of English history I had to read it. It was the first historical novel I have ever read and just could not put it down. Before I realised, I had sat down and finished the book in one sitting.I read a lot of historical texts ( which my wife finds perplexing ) and get great joy from them. Your novel on Azincourt opened a world where i actually could see the places and people you so wonderfully wrote about. An archer called Hook fought at Azincourt as you state from the records but what you have done for me is to create a person of substance, a person who has recounted for us his time in history. He is not just a name on a order of battle parchment. I have begun the saxon series novels and having read the first two and begun the third I am almost sorry I will finish all in the series to soon. I live in Australia an am almost envious that you lived in a country where there is so much rich history of western Civilisation. To live and breathe it all around you must be something special.I am rambling on so to get back to my original point, thank you for your wonderful writing.
