Dear Mr. Cornwell, I enjoy your books and have just finished The Bloody Ground. Needless to say, I wish there were more volumes since I am going through a little withdrawal at the moment. Coincidentally, once I finished, I got curious about my great-great-grandfathers and what role they might have played in the war. It turns out that on my father’s side, one of them belonged to the 32nd Regiment of the Ohio Volunteer Infantry – which was taken prisoner at Harper’s Ferry, and one on my mother’s side belonged to the 33rd Regiment of the Virginia Volunteer Infantry – whose history practically follows Starbuck’s. Thanks for making the Civil War more relevant and interesting to me. You have my endorsement for another installment in the Starbuck Chronicles (and whatever else you write). The first book I ever read of yours was The Archer’s Tale – I had bought a small ruin in Normandy and someone thought I needed to know some history… It made me a fan of yours – and now I’ve turned my sister onto your books as well. I can hardly wait to tell her about our familial connections to the battles described. Keep up the good work. Yours truly, David Ellison
