Just a remark about your comments on the “Billy Ruffian” book, HMS Bellerephon only took Napoleon from France to England. It was Admiral Cockburns flagship HMS Northumberland which took him to St Helena. I would like to recommend for your reading list, “Wellingtons Lieutenant Napoleons Gaoler” by Gareth Glover, a fascinating book on the letters and diaries of Sir George Ridout Bingham, who accompanied Napoleon on his last voyage.
