Mr. Cornwell, I just wanted to thank you for writing such amazing and captivating stories. I have long been interested in the Napoleonic wars and was always looking for books that would cover the period. I looked and looked and then suddenly, there was Sharpe’s Fortress! I began reading the series out of order (I didn’t think to look at the back of the book and see the actual order) But in the end, this series became my favorite. I became obsessed with the TV series with Sean Bean, and bought those too. I recently bought the Grail series and was not disappointed, your writing is both superb and captivating, and your historical detail astonishes me! Please consider this my thanks for giving me hours of reading pleasure and excitement. Your books are the standard by which I measure all other historical fiction novels.
