Dear Mr Cornwell, I am a PhD student in optical oceanography here in Victoria, BC, Canada and would like to let you know that I enjoyed the Warlord Chronicles immensely. A friend of mine who’s also a grad student is a great fan of yours and said so many good things about the Warlord books that I just could not resist. I have just finished reading the last book and I wish there was more!! For the last month or so I just could not stop reading the books. I was fascinated by your telling and got to love the characters so much that every now and then my dreams were intertwined with parts of the plot – the chapter on Mynnyd Baddon was exhilarating! I particularly loved the battle descriptions because they were very real and I could see everything through Derfel’s eyes. The dialogues between Merlin and Derfel were a welcome comic relief!
