Dear Mr. Cornwell, Thank you for your historical novels, esp. the Sharpe series! I especially like the Historical Notes at the end. Many authors write excellent fantasy, but I know of none but you and Patrick O’Brian who teach real history so well while bringing characters, both real & fantastic, to life. I only wish history was taught so well in our schools. As a Vietnam vet, I relate to Sharpe (though I was far less heroic)and as a crew member of the Star of India (formerly Euterpe)I am thoroughly enjoying Sharpe’s Trafalgar. I’ve had a chance to re-live some history, but because of your novels, I’ve been introduced to so much more. Please, please keep up the excellent storytelling!
