Dear Mr Cornwell. On the 2nd May, someone asks about historical novels covering the Crusades. I have read and enjoyed many of your books.I am presently reading Robyn Young’s second book called appropriately “Crusade” of the “Brethren” Trilogy.A little different to your style, but a good read.

Hi Mr. Cornwell. In a May 2nd posting, James asked about fiction set during the Crusades. He should read:(1) Tom Harper’s trilogy on the 1st Crusade, (‘The Mosaic of Shadows’, ‘Knights of the Cross’, ‘Siege of Heaven’), (2) ‘The Crusader’ by Michael Alexander Eisner, (3) and Robert Shea’s trilogy on the Egyptian Crusade (‘All Things are Lights’, ‘The Saracen: Land of the Infidel’, ‘The Saracen: The Holy War.” James will have to access a used book service like abebooks.com for Shea). Also, there are two different trilogies on the Knights Templers, both of which are still to publish the third books in their respective series: (4) one is by Jack Whyte, ‘Knights of the Black and White’, and ‘Standard of Honour’) and the other by Robyn Young: (5) ‘Bretheren’, and ‘Crusade’). If James is still looking for more after that, there’s always Sir Walter Scott. Alan Kempner
