Good morning, I am an avid reader and stumbled across 1 of the Sharpe Series about 2 years ago, now there aren’t too many I haven’t read and then — I discovered the movie series with Sean Bean — well I am well and truly rapt as is my husband and think I will have to purchase the entire series pension or no pension (I am 72 years young). I live in a suburb of Perth in Western Australia and am glad I have read the books first – it helps with the identification of your real and imaginary characters, I feel now that that period of history is so much more understandable and I envy the English for knowing such more than I – my own dad came from Scotland in 1922. Well I look forward more reading and viewing, I enjoyed your books before Sean Bean but must admit he and Daragh O’Malley do stir things up a bit – even at 72 – I find I admire Sharpe’s character which is no doubt exactly what you desired of your readers. A wonderful way to learn history – should be recommended reading and viewing in all schools. Sincerely, Robin Goynich.
