Dear Sir I first began to read your books many years ago when I was in the British army, serving in the Royal Engineers as a sapper(1982). I first started reading your Sharpe novels & I have not looked back since.The years have flown and I left the army & went offshore working on a drill crew, slowly working my way up to driller, due to the restrictions on baggage etc on a helicopter my one source of after shift entertainment was to read your books (amongst others but enjoyed yours most). I have relied on you heavily over the years to give me a good yarn and thank you for it. I’m looking forward to reading your next book all the best Ian Porteous
