dear sir, I always liked novels about historic Britain, especially the mist of Avalon series of MZB. When I visited Scotland years ago I found a book of yours which roused my interest, unfortunately it was the second book of the Arthur series so I had to find the first novel first before I could start reading. After being successful I really couldn´t stop reading and back in Germany I couldn´t await the third one to be published. I read your books in English because I do not like to read translations as they always are somewhat different than the original. Now I got the Saxon stories for my birthday and I can´t await to have some time to read them!! I hope that you will find more historical British themes to write about (like Stonehenge)… you said that the Arthur series is finished as you like to leave Arthur sleeping in Avalon, on that point I really agree, but I was a bit disappointed that lord Derfel´s life is left open…I would liked to have known how he spent the time between the last battle and his end in the monastery.
