Why are you tied up with the Sharpe novels to the extent that other story lines are being put on hold [ Starbuck especially ] surely with Waterloo & Napoleon’s final incarceration the Sharpe story [ ostensibly a history of the peninsular war/Wellington ] has run its course ? – I know there are links to the Starbuck books etc of course but surely Sharpe’s tale ends at or shortly after Waterloo – or will Starbuck run for president shortly after the Appomattox surrender, if any of that sounds facetious it was never intended thus, I suppose you get used to readers impatience for the next volume, it’s just that Sharpe seems to have run to his historical destiny, tv series or not[ for the record I think the tv series is pale compared to your books, ] keep up the good work however, you must be doing something right, a year ago I’d never heard of Bernard Cornwell – now I’m running out of books to read having ploughed my way through everything & am boring my friends about how excellent your historical novels are, all power to your pen, Alex
