Dear Sir, I am an avid fan of yours. I started out with the Sharpe series and have a great deal of respect for the character himself and for the research and writing skills that you brought to the table. HOWEVER, I have since stumbled upon the Saxon stories and all else has paled into insignificance. I am very much looking forward to the next book in the sequel and would like to entreat you to continue the story of Uthred at your earliest convenience. I must say that in my opinion the quality of your writing in that particular series far surpasses anything that has preceded it. I believe that you may have said something to the effect that the next book wouldn’t be forthcoming until 2009 and to be quite frank with you that seems such a long time away. Do please try to devote some time to Uthred, a hero dear to my heart with his ferocity and occasional mischievousness. I remain faithfully yours, Arpad Papp
