Dear Mr. Cornwell I have just finished reading all four books in the Starbuck chronicles. I accidentally came across the 1st one, read it & just had to purchase the rest. They were absolutely fantastic & the 1st books of yours that I have ever read. My favourite fictional author was Wilbur Smith, but your books absolutely blew me away. You have surpassed Mr. Smith. I love the American civil war era, but I previously steered away from fictional books on the subject. I love the way you mix fact with fiction & your description of Nate at Truslow’s farm conjured up a very vivid image in my head, I felt as if I was standing at Truslow’s wife’s resting place when Nate was praying. Magnificent work. I truly hope you can find the time to carry on with Starbuck’s adventures.
