Dear Sir, I am currently reading the Grail Quest novels and to tell you the truth this is the first time I have ever read a book since The BFG which I read at primary school. Not to say I don’t read, I do, its just unfortunate that they are all work related manuals, and after a while it really does start to hurt. Until a friend passed me Harlequin. He said I would enjoy this, he is Scottish, I have a Scottish background, and he knew I enjoyed the Sharpe series on TV. I thought I would write to you to say how much I have enjoyed the Grail Quest series and that it has inspired me to read more novels. I do like my history especially family history and the Armstrong’s can be said to go back to the Vikings. It was nice in Harlequin you had included an Armstrong, a fighting warlord that was very similar to Skeat. As portrayed in real life the Armstrong’s were a very strong clan on the borders of Scotland and were said to be able to muster an army of 3000 at times. Also in Vagabond when Robbie came to his fathers help at the beginning, Robbie rode up on a horse to protect his father from arrows. The Armstrong story is similar. John Furburn rode to save the King who’s horse had fallen from an arrow, John picked the King up with one arm onto his horse and thus was given the name Armstrong and granted land in the Liddlesdale area where Robbie and his father where from. Its been nice to relate your stories to what I know about my family’s history So I thank you very much I have really enjoyed the stories and I hope to carry on enjoying all your others. John Armstrong
