I am Northumbrian born and bred with a surname that arrived in these parts shortly after the Romans left. The Wights were the people who looked out too sea I was informed in Denmark and I was amazed at similarity of Geordie dialect and modern Danish. Although I know it’s fiction I feel that Uhtred’s story delves into my past and look forward to the next instalment.
