I don’t usually contact authors, but I am making an exception here because I so much enjoy your Sharpe novels. I am a retired US Air Force colonel. My father was an up-from-the-ranks US Army officer who was a horse calvary sergeant and then a combat officer with Patton’s recon forces. His combat experience was similar to the fictional Tom Hanks character in Private Ryan. I only wish my father were still alive, to read your Sharpe books. I see my father in the Sharpe character in many ways. I am currently reading Sharpe’s Fury. I wish there was an inexhaustible supply of new Sharpe novels, but instead I must wait patiently for each one as it is released. Thank you for bringing such enjoyment to my life! Ed McGann
