Hi Bernard… Sorry if I call you by your name, but for me is better… I read in Italian all your books, and in some sense I know you, also if you don’t know me… Before I’ll write to you what I want say to you I want to say sorry for my bad English, I don’t know this language very well, so really sorry… I want to ask you to do something for Italian translation of the Sharpe books… you wrote many books about Sharpe, but in Italy we have only 6 books translated, those first 6 books of Sharpe I read all, 2/3 times a book… I really like it, maybe you are the best in the world, for my think, and Sharpe books are the best books I’ve read in my life… but ii would like to read the other books, and in English for me (and I think for many other Italians) it is very difficult… someday I will learn a better English, also for reading your books in original language… so I ask you again, please do something for having all Italian translations of the Sharpe books… thank you very much for reading this mail… I write in Italian now and better, if you speak Italian, or if you know somebody that can translate for you… —————- Ciao Bernard… scusa se ti chiamo per nome, ma mi risulta più appropriato… ho letto tutti i tuoi libri che sono stati tradotti in italiano, quindi è un po’ come se io ti conoscessi, anche se tu non conosci me… Volevo chiederti di fare qualcosa per le traduzioni in italiano del ciclo di sharpe. Hai scritto tanti libri riguardo sharpe, ma in italia abbiamo soltanto le traduzioni dei primi 6, che io ho letto due o tre volte a libro. Penso che nel tuo genere sei l’autore più grande dei nostri tempi, uno dei pochi che riescono a tenerti bloccato davanti all’inchiostro del libro anche quando si sono fatte le tre o le quattro di notte e sarebbe ora di andare a dormire. E’ per questo che voglio chiederti di fare qualcosa per il ciclo di sharpe, sarebbe bello poter leggere al più presto gli altri libri. Anche se immagino che anche altri lettori provenienti da altri paesi avranno lo stesso problema, ma, comunque sentivo di dovertelo almeno chiedere, a nome mio e a nome di tutti gli altri italiani che aspettano con ansia le traduzioni. Prima o poi imparerò l’inglese in maniera da poter leggere i tuoi romanzi in lingua originale, ma per il momento non mi è possibile, e aspetto le traduzioni… Grazie per aver letto e ancora complimenti.
