I love your books, I hated history the way school taught it but you bring it to life. I recently had a holiday in Northumberland (a stormy week in January) and I can quite believe how Uhtred loves his homeland. Obviously Bamburgh Castle (Bebbanburg) is relatively modern now, but the coastline hasn’t changed and Holy Island is still wonderful. I also regularly visit the Somerset levels and York, so I can live the stories in my head.
