Dear Bernard, Thanks so much for your wonderful books, most of which I have read (and I am fast catching up with you). But, having just finished “The Bloody Ground” I really must appeal to you to continue with the Starbuck Chronicles. After all, you have lived in the States for some time, and the Civil War is our most romantic episode! And what great material awaits your pen — Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, Gettysburg… After reading you, I really can’t be enthusiastic about the currently popular Civil War fiction.
