Dear Bernard, Fate is inexorable. Fate led me to pick up your amazing books and develop a love for your historical fiction. It began in 2003 when I started working at Warwick Castle and met a very interesting man, Kevin Hicks. He was full of amazing and powerful stories from every era in history, he told me of your meeting at the Castle and suggested as a student of history that it would be a shame for me not to pick up your works and take a step back in time. Ever since that day I have been enjoying your adventures in history, naturally Kevin was very keen for me to pick up the Thomas of Hookton novels, which was just the beginning of a love for your work. You have been an inspiration to me, I hope one day that I too can produce, research and create such a magical place in the world of words as you have done, for so many people to enjoy and to discover the delights of history. I am eternally grateful to your wife, for the three spinners did indeed intend for you to end up in the US and write as beautifully as you do. If you ever need an extra hand with your research, I would be more than happy to volunteer my services, if only to say that I worked alongside one of the 21st Century’s greatest historical fiction author. Yours sincerely, Holly Ingram.
