Dear Mr. Cornwell, congratulations on the OBE. I’m impatiently waiting for the local library to get Sharpe’s Fury (#1 on the waiting list). I had an idea I wanted to run by you. You have a number of loose threads (Sharpe’s first battle at Boxtel, Antonia’s fate, Frederickson’s return, Sharpe’s death, etc.) that might not be tied up in future books or might not have enough story to fill up a whole novel. You could instead write a number of short stories (like you did in Sharpe’s Christmas or Sharpe’s Skirmish) and possibly call it “Sharpe’s Shorts” or something similar. Just an idea. Darren Ivey
