Hi again, Mr. Cornwell. In a June 5th posting, Manuel Ayala asked about novels dealing with the Spanish conquest of the Americas. First on his list should be Samuel Shellabarger’s great classic “The Captain from Castille”, which is once again available in paperback. Also, there are Gary Jennings’ novels on the downfall of the Aztec empire: “Aztec”, “Aztec Autumn”, “Aztec Blood”, and “Aztec Rage”. Finally, there is A. B. Daniels’ trilogy of novels on the conquest of the Incas, “Incas 1: The Puma’s Shadow”, “Incas 2: The Gold of Cuzco”, and Incas 3: The Light of Machu Piccu.” Jennings and Daniels tell there stories more from the Indian point of view, rather than the Spanish.
