Mr. Cornwell: On Christmas day I was staying with friends, when the weather turned nasty and I had to spend the night. I found The Last Kingdom on their bookshelf and took it to bed. I haven’t stopped reading you since. I crashed through The Grail books (I think I’m in love with Thomas); Excalibur is waiting for me, since I’ve finished the other two, but I spent so much time crying over those two, my eyeballs are still puffy so I’m giving them a rest. I’ve got Scoundrel on the nightstand, Copperhead in the CD player in the car, and am working my way through Sharpe by book and DVD. I am elated to find you. I love it when I find an author I like who writes and writes and writes. And, historically, you’re all over the place. That’s even better. I never knew I liked battle scenes so well. Yesterday was my birthday, so I’m going to pick up your sequel to Kingdom. I am so happy. Thank you very much. You are the ultimate story teller. Ann Lyerla
