Hello Bernard, Wanted to say how much I enjoy your stories. I like the Sharpe books very much but your Arthur stories were brilliant and the Saxon stories are fantastic. It’s my favourite period of history and if I was going to be a warrior from those long lost days I’d want to be Uhtred. I received the Pale Horsemen on Christmas day. My wife keeps telling me off for sitting about reading it when I should be doing jobs around the house so I’ve taken to hiding in the toilet – not the most relaxing place to read a book but when needs must. Even when I’ve had a bad day at work I look forward to being transported to another world away from modern pressures, (running my boss down with a horse and sword seems very satisfying) in the spirit of Uhtred.
