Dear Bernard You asked if anyone knew of any books about Scottish Jacobites. The answer is Nigel Tranter – his books cover almost the entire History of Scotland. regards, Rob
Dear Mr. Cornwell: In a September 7th posting, Mike asked for recommendations of historical fiction on the Scottish Jacobites. I would highly recommend the many novels of Nigel Tranter, particularly the MacGregor Trilogy. There is also Sir Walter Scott’s classic “Rob Roy.” Lastly, there is Robert Louis Stevenson’s novel “The Master of Ballantrae.” This should keep Mike busy for a while. Alan Kempner
