Dear Mr Cornwell, I’ve just finished reading Harlequin and I had to write and thank you for what you do! I haven’t been so immersed in a story since reading your Arthurian series last year and can’t wait to get hold of Vagabond. As a budding writer I appreciate the level of effort it takes to make something seem so effortless, but the fact you enjoy what you do really comes across and is incredibly inspiring. Thank you also for what your advice to writers. There is so much information on the web about ‘how to write’ it is easy to become bogged down and uncertain of whether or not you are writing ‘right’ but in my opinion no one can really tell you how to, only that it can be done. I just love that you love what you do and you aren’t afraid to say it…people forget to tell us groundlings about the joys of writing. I actually felt guilty in the beginning because I enjoyed it so much! Maybe when I’m paid to do it it won’t feel so illicit. Anyway, I don’t mean to take up more of your time, I just wanted my voice to join the many others of gratitude that I have found your stories. Yours sincerely, Elizabeth Beckett Sydney, Australia
