Dear Mr Cornwell,
having gone through the Sharpe, Arthur and the Starbuck series. I have just finished Harlequin and I now have Vagabond tempting me from the bookshelf

Your other books were very good ( especially the sharp series ) but I found harlequin a book of rare quality. The only other work I have read that had the “superglue” effects on my hands was my first reading of the the lord of the Rings in 1975 .

Obviosly I have no knowledge yet on how Thomas of Hookton developes as a character but as you have no immediate plans for another book- please do not leave him gathering dust for to long.

As a side issue the Sharpe film series was good but what a motion picture Harlequin would make !!

Thanks
Steve
