I’ve just discovered the Sharpe books- Don’t ask why it took so long, I guess I had my head under a rock or something. I work in Germany, and I am really enjoying the chance to read good historical millitary fiction that doesn’t automatically mail the Germans, in fact, I could swear that I have met Captain Lossow from Sharpe’s gold. He’s almost exactly like my son’s Godfather. I am often saddened by the unpleasant jingoistic way a lot of british authors speak about Germans, so it was great to get the other side of the coin. Your books have got me researching the German army’s contribution to the Napoleonic war, which has proved a very rewarding study. Thanks! Andy Evans
