Dear Mr. Cornwell, I have hugely enjoyed all of your books that I’ve read. To date, that means the Sharpe novels, all the Thomas of Hookton novels and all the King Arthur novels, plus the Stonehenge one. I just bought a signed “Last Kingdom” at Uncle Edgar’s in Minneapolis. I do not wish to presume, but I suspect you and I both have some philosophical differences with the idea of Aristocracy or Divine Right to Rule. At least, I tend more strongly to sympathize with Sharpe, Harper, and the rest of the ground pounders than I do with even the more level headed higher officers. While I have missed, or been spared (?), military service, my father, and all of my uncles but the two youngest, were out there at the pointed end of the stick in World War II. I think they’d all have respected Mr. Sharpe and his Riflemen. Alas, most of them were dead before I found the books. I look forward to many more enjoyable years of reading your works. Thanks for it all! Steve
