My brother in law told me about An Archers Tale and the Sharpes Chronicles. He gave me the Archers tale to read and I finished it in a few days. Needless to say, I was “hooked” (no pun intended, well maybe it was intended). I completed the series and loved every one. I have since moved on to the Sharpes series of books and have developed a strong hatred for Obidiah Hakeswell. Your use of him as a villan is very clever. It reminds me of Ian Flemings bad guys that leave Mr. Bond in an escapable life and death situation and of course he “dodges the bullet” as we say here in the US. So far it has left me to think,”why doesn’t he just shoot the bastard and have done with it?” But that is what makes it fun, right? As I am just beginning the series I am looking forward to the character meeting an extremely gruesome end at Mr. Sharpe’s hand. I could go on about how much I appreciate your talents but I will be brief and say that I like your work a lot. I would like to see how you might treat WWII from an historical fiction standpoint or maybe even the Boer (sp) wars. Regards, Joel Johns
