My interest in Sharpe (probably like many others) was first stirred in the series on televison. At the time I was a serving soldier in N.I and it was a must see event for everyone on camp! My brother was a fan of the books and suggested I would get more satisfaction from reading them. I have to say, when one of the books is in my hands, they are very hard to put down. As I work in Australia now and fly around quite frequently, people ask me for the best advice on long haul flights, it’s simple, buy a Sharpe book!

I found Sharpe’s Escape excellent and look forward to the next adventure.
