Bernard, Just wanted to write and tell you how much I’m enjoying Sharpe’s Escape. This isn’t a criticism- I think it’s me getting picky in my old age rather than your writing, but I was disappointed with the last two Sharpe Prequels. I know they’re prequels but the whole thing of Sharpe at Trafalgar baffled me. Still, I guess you have to make money. With Sharpe’s Escape, I think you’re on the best form I’ve known. A classic Sharpe adventure. You’ve always been an inspiration to me in terms of writing and everything in this book justifies why. Looking forward to the Last Kingdom. I have heard rumours that a Sharpe prequel is being produced for TV? Is this true? If not, I’d love to see Sharpe’s Escape on ITV. Get Beanie out of middle earth and back in the Peninsular where he belongs. Thanks as always. I look forward to hearing from you. Iain Culkin
