Hi Bernard The Age of Napoleon is a highly excellent book which I recommend. I recall that you read a lot of history while researching your Sharpe series so I thought this one may interest you. Herald cites a specific but largely unknown battle (which I forgot to write down, alas) that was among Napoleon’s finest or bloodiest or some such and I kept thinking ‘..wonder if Sharpe was there at the time?’.
