Dear Mr Cornwell. I am a great far of your books and have been reading them since I was in high school. I have just finished reading Sharpes Waterloo for I think the 6th time, I like to have a familiar book to read chapters of before bed and I find many of your books a great way to wind down. In Sharpes Waterloo one of my favorites parts is when Harper shoots his 7 barreled gun up close into the Old Guard at the end, which sounds brilliant. I was curious about something, in the Forward of Sharpes Waterloo you talked about how you tried to add a plot but you had trouble, and instead found the battle of Waterloo all the plot and excitement you needed. I was wondering what some of that early plot may have been?, what was some of your early ideas for the book that you never completed?. I know its been a while since you wrote the book, but I thought Id ask anyway. Damien Silson.
